Quality Control
Continuous Improvement & Testing
Guardian is committed to delivering safe, dependable, cost competitive fall protection solutions to the construction industry. Every day, our Quality Control (QC) department pulls random items for batch testing along with performing regularly scheduled inspection of items prior to shipment. Each product that leaves our building receives a number of inspection stickers for us to use during our auditing processes and when addressing any customer concerns.
Tommy Lee, Director of Quality Control, leads our team of QC personnel to make sure your products meet and most often exceed ANSI and OSHA standards. On a daily basis we subject our products to both dynamic performance testing and dynamic strength testing on our testing tower. In addition, we perform static load testing on a variety of anchor points, webbing, and various other hardware components.
Every quarter, our testing facility and records are audited by a third party, CSA. Guardian goes above and beyond the required testing as we have exposed our products to a variety of environmental conditions to test the overall durability and life expectancy of our product.
"We want to see how the product performs in a testing facility after it returns from the abusive jobsite environments. Pushing products to their limits helps us design better and safer equipment," says Tommy Lee.
Tommy Lee works with engineering from the outset of product development to make sure processes for manufacturing and QC inspection are drafted and trained upon. The engineering team works with a variety of Fortune 500 organizations to develop stronger, longer lasting materials that we can then incorporate in our products.
"We are focusing a great deal of resources on the investment of new technologies to bring better products to market. It is amazing the number of advancements that have been made in terms of webbing and hardware components,” says Ed Marquardt, President of Guardian Fall Protection.
