The Guardian Fall Team Blog

The Oak Hill Supportive Community facility required a fall protection system for maintenance, repair, and inspection of their rooftop. The facility’s architect had specified that the single anchor points incorporated in this fall protection system needed to withstand a 3,600 pound load in any direction without detachment or fracture and should also be capable of securing two workers in the event of fall arrest or four workers in the event of fall restraint.

To fulfill the fall protection requirements as set by the facility’s architect, ESG designed an OSHA and ANSI compliant 240 lineal foot low-profile horizontal lifeline system. The anchor points included in this system were secured to the structure using the unique XS toggle anchor connection, which requires only one rooftop penetration.

The installation of the single anchor point fall protection system was supervised by Doug Boehm, an ESG Certified Trainer. Doug also performed a proof load test on the horizontal lifeline system and provided training to the end users on the use, maintenance, inspection, and warranty requirements for the custom system.
