Height Safety specialist Guardian has announced the latest in a series of initiatives aiming to drive speed of innovation and further embed user insights at the heart of its design processes.

Its new state-of-the-art Design and Innovation Center will open in Houston, TX – situated nearby the world class Testing Facility, Training Center and the businesses’ largest Manufacturing Facility – creating a true 360-degree height safety offer in a single US location.

The initiative will encourage regular customer visits to enable collaborative dialogue throughout the design, engineering, testing and training process – allowing unique product insight and facilitating unrivaled responsiveness to customers' needs.

The location nearby the key manufacturing and testing facilities is part of a strategic initiative to improve speed-to-market, recognizing customers’ needs for fast and focused innovation in a rapidly changing landscape.

The US location is supplemented by a UK-based Design and Innovation Center focused on developing products for the UK and European Markets.

Judd Perner, Director of Product and Engineering comments: "This is not only a move to physically bring our resources together, it is also a commitment to formalizing a user insight led program focused on translating our customers’ needs and pain points into innovative solutions for height safety. These two regional design centers will also assist our speed to market as both the Houston and UK Design Centers are located near our testing and manufacturing facilities in each market."

The investments come at a time when Guardian is focusing in on its mission to simplify height safety – leveraging its scale and agility to make it easier for its customers to work safely at height.

Guardian is seeking to bolster its Design Engineering and Product Management teams and invites applicants to get in touch to find out more about what part they might play in its height safety mission.

Bruce Larson, Chief Human Resources Officer, comments: “The establishment of a Houston-based design center is a huge commitment to a future where Guardian innovates for the US market from within the US market. We’re all excited to help write this new chapter in the Guardian story.”
