Anchorage Connectors FAQs

It depends.

OSHA requires anchorages used for Fall Arrest to be capable of supporting at least 5,000 lbs. per employee or be designed, installed, and used under the supervision of a qualified person as part of a complete personal fall protection system that maintains a safety factor of at least two.

Anchorages that are used exclusively for Work Positioning (i.e., working hands free while simultaneously connected to a Fall Arrest system) are required to withstand a force of at least 3,000 lbs. per user for non-certified anchorages or two times the foreseeable force for certified anchorages.

Anchorages that are used for Travel Restraint only (i.e., no potential for a fall to occur), are required to withstand a force of at least 1,000 lbs. per user for non-certified anchorages or two times the foreseeable force for certified anchorages.
