The Guardian Fall Team Blog

Inspecting fall protection equipment is essential to ensuring both maximum safety and maximum product lifetime. Guardian Fall Protection equipment is required to be inspected prior to each use by the end user, and at least every six months by a Competent Person other than the end user.

This dual level inspection is yet another way to ensure the highest degree of equipment performance. The end user will be able to catch any issues that may arise resulting from daily wear and tear, while the Competent Person brings their more in-depth product knowledge to the table during their formal biannual inspections.

Always remember that it is required to be trained in the proper inspection of all specific types of equipment being used. After all, there’s no use inspecting a self-retracting lifeline (SRL) if you don’t know what to look for!

With that in mind, let’s take a look at an example of a complete inspection of a Guardian Fall Protection Velocity SRL.
